Élisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre

From her first recordings with Kapp Records, and her highly acclaimed Carnegie Hall recital debut as an artist on the Sol Hurok roster, Ann Schein's amazing career has earned her high praise in major American and European cities and in more than 50 countries around the world. Since her debut in Mexico City in when she performed both the Rachmaninoff 3rd Concerto and the Tchaikovsky B-flat Concerto, she has performed thousands of concerts on every continent. Over her many years performing in London, she appeared repeatedly in the Promenade Concerts in Albert Hall, including several Last Nights, when favorite soloists are invited to perform.

In she was invited to perform at the White House during the Kennedy administration. From she was on the piano faculty of Peabody Conservatory, and since she has been an Artist-Faculty member of the Aspen Music Festival and School.

During the she served as a Visiting Faculty member at Indiana University. From , she was on the jury of the Irving S.

The Jacquet family contained a number of musicians and instrument makers, including virtually all of her immediate family; her father and both brothers were organists, and her elder sister played harpsichord or viol for the household of the Duchess of Guise. In the July edition of the Mercure galant , she was described as "a wonder" who could sing difficult music at sight, accompany herself or others on the harpsichord, and compose pieces and play them "in all the keys asked of her.

Other instrumental works include eight sonatas for violin and continuo and four trio sonatas, probably dating from the early-to-mid s.
